
It was established in January 1978, by an Agreement between the governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Mozambique, signed by the then Ministers for Foreign Affairs of Tanzania and Mozambique, respectively. The Centre has been incorporated in the Consular and Diplomatic Immunities and Privileges Act. No. 5, 1986
The Centre for Foreign Relations (CFR), Dar es Salaam,invites applications from suitable qualified Tanzanians to
fill the following positions:
1. TUTORIAL ASSISTANTS - Twelve Positions in thefollowing specializations:
International Relations (Four Positions)
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Bachelors Degree in International Relations with a GPA of 3.5 and above and for unclassified degrees, overall average of B grade or above.
Development Studies - One Position
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Bachelors Degree in Development Studies with a GPA of 3.5 and above and for unclassified degrees, overall average of B grade or above.
Peace Studies/Conflict Management- (Two position)
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Bachelor Degree in conflict and peace studies with a GPA of 3.5 and above and for
unclassified degrees, overall average of B grade or above.
Foreign Languages- (three positions)
• Portugues- (Two Positions)
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Bachelor specialized in portuguese Language with a GPA of 3.5 and above and for unclassified degrees, overall average of B grade or above.
• Spanish – (one position)
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Bachelor specialized in Spanish Language with a GPA of 3.5 and above and for unclassified degrees, overall average of B grade or above.
Economics- (one position)
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Bachelor specialized in Economics with a GPA of 3.5 and above and for unclassified degrees, overall average of B grade or above.
Accountancy –(one position)
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Bachelor specialized in Accountancy with a GPA of 3.5 and above and for unclassified degrees, overall average of B grade or above.
2. ASSISTANT LECTURERS - Six Postions in the following specializations:
Economic and Statistics/Econometrics – (One Position)
Qualifications:
Applicants must be holders of a Master Degree in Economics and Statistics/Econometrics from a recognized
higher learning institution plus a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Statistics/Econometrics with overall GPA
of 3.5 or above.
International Relations - Two Position
Qualifications:
Applicants must be holders of a Master Degree in International Relations from a recognized higher learning institution plus a Bachelors Degree in International Relations with overall GPA of 3.5 or above.
Peace Studies/Conflict Management - One Position
Qualifications:
Applicants must be holders of a Master Degree in Peace Studies/Conflict Management from a recognized higher
learning institution plus a Bachelors Degree in Peace Studies/Conflict Management with overall GPA of 3.5 or
above.
Development Studies - One Position
Qualifications:
Applicants must be holders of a Master Degree in Development from a recognized higher learning institution plus a Bachelors Degree in Development with overall GPA
of 3.5 or above.
Communication skills- (one position)
Qualifications:
Applicants must be holders of a Master Degree in Communication Skills from a recognized higher learning institution plus a Bachelors Degree in Communication Skills with overall GPA of 3.5 or above
3. LECTURERS -One Positions in the following specializations:
Development Studies – One Positions
Qualifications:
• Applicants must be holders of a PhD specialized in Development Studies from a recognized higher learning institution plus Masters Degree in Development Studies and Bachelors Degree in Development Studies with overall GPA of 3.5 or above, or
• Holder of a Bachelors Degree and Master Degree in Development Studies and has a working experience in teaching and research or consultancy in higher learning institution and has published four peer reviewed papers or
has at least 10 years working experience in similar institutions with 5 consultancy/research reports in the relevant field.
DUTIES
successful candidates for the above positions will be
expected to:
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Conduct tutorials and seminars
• Prepare teaching and learning materials
• Conduct Research and publish in the field of their specializations
• Conduct consultancies and public services in the field of their specializations; and
• Attend any other duties as may be assigned by the Management
4. LIBRARIAN TRAINEE - Three Positions
Qualifications:
• Applicants must possess a Bachelors Degree in Librarianship with a GPA of 3.5 and above and for unclassified degrees, overall average of B grade or above.
DUTIES
Classify catalogue books and other library materials, produce bibliographic information and guides, prepare library materials order lists, shelve books and other library materials, maintain library materials loan records and supervise subordinates during shifts.

• Computer literacy and good command of English
• Good interpersonal and Communication Skills
